3.04 How to create announcements/broadcast

What is Announcement?

Announce is one of the best marketing tools to share content with users, engaging your subscribers and reveal their needs and interests. This feature gives you a chance to start a dialogue with your subscribers instantly.

1. Deliver content to a specific target audience
   
2. Engage subscribers by sharing regular updates.
   
3. Know your audience and segment it depending on user's responses.
   

How to create Announcement?

You can create an announcement/broadcast in the Nurture > Announce tab. Click on the 'Create Announcement' button to get started.

Select the brand page to compose your announcement as shown in block (1) of the above image. Choose the message type based on last user message time:

1. Update within 24 hours - any message can be shared,
   
2. Bonus message 1st after 24 hours - bonus promotional message after 24 hours,
   
3. Message after 24 hours - non promotional message after 24 hours, also need to choose the category of the message as shown in image below:
   
   
   
   
   
   

You can compose the message to be delivered to the target audience. You can either choose a message template or build a new message.

Whats are WhatsApp Template messages?

WhatsApp template messages or post session messages for WhatsApp are pre-approved by WhatsApp to control spam. Brand can only send approved templates. Some more info about post session messages:

• Brand can only send text messages as Post-Session messages. Any media, location or contact is not supported. Text messages can contain links, formatting, and emojis.
  

• Post-session messages have extra cost per message. The price is country based. You can find the complete list here.

You can create the these templates in Chatflow > Message Templates section, by choosing WhatsApp post session template.you can get more details on how to create message templates in Chapter 3.06 How to create Template Messages.

How to target an announcement?

Once you have build your message, you can select the target audience segment for the announce and schedule the same.

In case you do not find a relevant segment, you can first create a relevant segment in the Audience tab as already discussed in Chapter 3.02 How to create a segment.

How to schedule an announcement?

After adding the target audience for the announce/broadcast, you can now schedule your announcement in the schedule section as shown in block(4) of the above image or you can send the announcement immediately by clicking on the 'Send Immediately' button.

1. Decide the date and time for the announcement as shown in block (4)
   
2. Choose the timezone for the announcement.
   
3. Send message based on user's timezone by checking the checkbox.
   

Click on the 'Send for Review' button to submit the announce for review. Once the announce is approved, it it ready to be sent to the users.
