4.03 How to bring users to the bot
There can be multiple ways to bring the user to the bot- Facebook ads, Email/SMS campaigns or Google ads. Based on the source, the platform provides you two ways for attracting new customers and communicating with your existing audience on the bot.
Ads JSON
Ads JSON connects your Facebook Ads with the bot and allows you to send an opt-in message to every user who clicks on your Facebook ad.
You can create an Ads JSON in the Source tab, by clicking on the 'Create New' button and choosing the Ads JSON option as shown below.
The Ads JSON tab lets you build a welcome message for all the users coming on the bot through the Facebook ads. Once you have created the welcome message, the platform generates a script called Ads JSON as shown in the below image, that needs to be copied and integrated with your Facebook Ads.
Referral Link
Referral link is a direct link to the bot and can be integrated with your Google ads and shared in Email/SMS campaigns to direct users on the bot. Any user clicking on the referral links will be redirected to the bot.
One important aspect of the referral links is that they are contextual and carry the context from the ads or Email/SMS campaigns on to the bot.
You can create a referral link in the Source tab, by clicking on the Create New button and
choosing the Referral option as shown below.
The following window opens when you click on Referral. It lets you choose the Facebook account page where the bot needs to be deployed as indicated in block (1).
You can choose the respective Campaign and decide which conversation module needs to be triggered when the user arrives on the bot using the referral link as shown in block (2). As the referral links are contextual, you can generate multiple referral links and trigger different conversation modules in order to maintain the context from Ads or email campaigns.
Referral Identifier as shown in block (3) is a unique identifier that can be used to differentiate between multiple referrals created for the same account. This feature helps in maintaining context from ads and Email/SMS campaigns.
Referral identifiers are also useful in determining the the list of users coming from different sources like ads/emails/sms campaigns.
